Will McColl · Remedial Massage TherapistMovement first.
Treatment built around you.
Forge Movement is owned and run by Will, a remedial massage therapist and personal trainer with more than seven years of hands-on experience helping people move, train and feel better.
With over seven years in the health and fitness industry, Will combines hands-on experience with an extensive understanding of movement, anatomy and the demands of everyday life on the body.
His approach looks beyond symptoms to identify tension, restriction and imbalance. Every session is tailored to the individual, because no two bodies, lifestyles or training loads are the same.
Point to the pain
Where it hurts is only part of the story. Select an area to see some of the common reasons and how remedial treatment may help.
Now showing
Calf & Achilles
Calf tightness and soreness can show up after increased running, sport, long periods on your feet or changes in training load. Will assesses the surrounding tissue and ankle movement before deciding where treatment should focus.
- Best for
- Running, sport, gym training, prolonged standing
- Session focus
- Remedial massage • mobility work • dry needling where appropriate
How a session works
Four stages, one goal: tissue that settles under pressure and moves more freely after.
- 01
Assess & map
You’ll talk through what’s bothering you, when you notice it and what your body regularly has to handle. Will may also check relevant movement and range.
- 02
Treat
Your treatment is built around what Will finds, using techniques such as remedial massage, soft-tissue work, cupping or dry needling where appropriate.
- 03
Reassess
Rather than assuming the treatment worked, Will can re-check the movement or area that was restricted and see how your body has responded.
- 04
Recover
You’ll leave with practical advice for the next few days which may include movement, mobility, training modifications or simply allowing the area time to settle.
“Will was quick to identify where the trouble spots were and through massage and cupping has made an incredible difference to my mobility and flexibility.”

Know before you go
Clear answers make the first session easier.
Does sports massage hurt?+
Some techniques can feel intense, particularly around sensitive or tight areas, but more pressure isn’t automatically better. Will adjusts treatment to your comfort and response throughout the session.
How often should I book?+
There’s no universal schedule. It depends on why you’re coming in, your training or workload, how your body responds and what you’re trying to achieve. Will will recommend a sensible timeframe after assessing you without booking you into unnecessary treatment.
Should I train afterwards?+
It depends on the treatment and your planned session. After deeper work or dry needling, you may benefit from keeping training lighter. Will will let you know what makes sense for you before you leave.
Do I need to be injured to book?+
No. Plenty of clients book because they feel tight, restricted, sore from training or simply aren't moving as comfortably as usual. You don't need a diagnosed injury to benefit from having the area assessed.
